Deep South ITE February, 2010 Meeting
We had our Winter Meeting February 25-26th in Hattiesburg, MS.
It is also time to renew membership for 2010. Dues remain at $25/year, with student membership free of charge.
The Winter Meeting was held at the MDOT District 6 Headquarters on US Highway 49 in Hattiesburg.
We had the Traffic Bowl competition, and the winning school will represent our Section at the District meeting in Virginia.

Southern District ITE Meeting
The Annual Meeting of the Southern District ITE will be held in Portsmouth, Virginia April 11-14, 2009. For more information go to the SDITE meeting website at http://www.sdite2010.org/
Deep South ITE Meeting
The Summer Meeting will be a joint meeting with the Alabama ITE Section. It will be held at The Beach Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama June 9-11, 2010. We will post details as we get them from the Alabama Section. Also, you can go to the Alabama ITE website at www.alsite.org.
If you are planning on staying at The Beach Club for the Annual ALSITE meeting this June, the following information is for you.
Our group number is 267581 under the group name of AL Institute of Transportation Engineers. One bedroom units start at $207.20 plus taxes and fees. Reservations can be made directly with the Beach Club by calling their Reservations Department at 1-888-260-SAND. Be sure our members mention our group number and name.
The meeting will be June 9th - 11th. The tentative schedule is:
Wednesday the 9th will start at 1 PM and end at 5 PM with the Consultant's Shrimp Boil to follow at Jim Morris' home on the bay across the street from the Beach Club.
9th Conference on Access Management
This is a National Conference sponsored by the Transportation Research Board, Federal Highway Administration and Mississippi DOT. It will be held October 10-13, 2010 in Natchez, Mississippi. Registration is open and available at www.accessmanagement.info as is a Draft Agenda. Early-bird registration ends August 15, 2010. Gulf Region ITS (GRITS)
This is a relatively new organization focused on ITS activities in the Gulf Region states. It will meet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana November 16-18, 2010. We will provide information here as we get it. You can go the group's website at www.gulfregionits.orgThursday will run from 8 AM - 12:00 (12:30) with the cocktail party beginning at 5 PM and the food line at the Banquet opening at 6 PM. Auction to follow the banquet.
Friday will start at 8 AM and run to ~11-11:30 or earlier with the Traffic Bowl and Section Business meetings. Golf will start around 12:30 - 1:00 PM.
